Cassidy was super nice and made dinner for us. So, we came home to eat a great dinner - thanks Cass. But here's the bad news. Ashton decided to be a turkey and cause problems for Cass, instead of napping, he decided to play, and while playing - get this ....
he decided to poop in the vent. You heard me, poop in my air vent.
I don't know why this kid fights us so much with potty training. Death to Ashton.
Mike took Tuesday off because he had a comp day from his long weekend at Marriott (36 hour shift). So, he watched the kids in the morning and then we took the kids skiing in the afternoon. We put Ashton on a set of borrowed skis - thanks Amber Sandberg. And I took Emma in a backpack. We decided to go to Sundance. Mike and I used the Marriott passes (available to employees when not shmoosing others). Kids 5 and under are free, so it cost us nothing. We did two runs down midway. We don't really know the best way to teach Ashton how to ski. Mike put Ashton in between his skis and put his polls in front of Ashton so that he could help Ashton keep his balance, but all Ashton wanted to do was hang on the polls. We'll have to find a new tactic. We may have to send him down the tow rope hill, just to see how he does - it's really short.
Anyway, it was fun to see how things went. Emma had a good time - she wanted to ski faster. But it was cold on Tuesday as well - and Emma was getting cold.
We decided that after skiing we would drive to Tooele to see Paul, Mindy and baby Abby. The kids took a short nap on the drive out there. We grabbed some pizza's and visited for a few hours.
Abby is such a doll. She has the cutest face. She slept most of the time we were there, but Mike and Emma got a chance to change her diaper.
The highlight of the night for Ashton was playing with their dog - Broccoli. Ashton had a great time playing fetch with her. It was so funny, he would throw the ball, and then race her to it. He got trampled so many times, but loved it. And no - Ashton is not getting a puppy for his birthday (Doug and Angie).
After seeing Paul and Mindy we made a quick stop at Missy Hancock's home in Tooele. She used to work here at UVSC with me and had her first baby Brinley about 6 months after I had Ashton. I don't think I've seen her for about a year, so it was a nice visit, but quick since it was getting late. Her girls Cambree and Brinley are really cute. And Emma was so funny, she was copying everything that Brinley was doing.

Sounds like you had tons of fun!
Fun snow day! I am trying to remember how my siblings and i were taught to ski. It just isn't coming to me. I do remember those hooks that go on the tip of the skis (to make a permanet snowplow) and then hanging on to the end of my dads pole. He would ski backwards, wow that doesn't seem safe to me but you could try it!
