Lego Space Police Cake
Ashton is a great kid. He can be so kind and sweet. He cares about other people, and is a softy. He still loves to cuddle, and is a sucker for pj's. Ashton is hilarious, and such an interesting child. He is fascinated with hunting, bugs/animals, and is just an all around boy. We are so glad to have him in our family.
My parents came into town on Tuesday night. I feel so blessed. With Mike's work schedule, I had no idea when I was going to do a birthday party for Ashton. But my mom said she was willing to help me. And so, Ashton got to have his very first birthday party on his birthday. The good news is, he thought it was great.
So, first we played Lego drop. The kids had to drop a lego from their nose into the vase. They had 9 different legos to drop. The winner was Zach - he got 4 legos in the vase.
The next game was "Happy Birthday". This is a game where you shove a large marshmallow in your mouth and say Happy Birthday, and then hold it in your mouth and you get another marshmallow. About 4 kids got up to three large marshmallows in their mouth. The boys thought it was funny, and so did I.
Next the boys got to try and build a tall structure with toothpicks and small marshmallows. Followed by a game of Blind Man's Bluff. The boy in the middle was blindfolded, and the boys around circled him (and they chanted "Blind man, blind ma, blind man's bluff". The boy in the middle would say stop and then he would point and try and guess the child he pointed to, if he couldn't guess, then he could touch them and try to guess who they were by touch.
Then we did presents and cake and ice cream. Followed by a game of "Pirate Says", like Simon Says while the boys waited for their moms. Mostly that turned into the boys playing with Ashton's new toys.
Ashton had a great time, loved his presents, and thought it was so cool to have a party.
Jaden, Brayden, Emma, Macoy, Ashton, Zach (in back), Tyler, and Bently
Cass, Nate and Bridger came over a little later for dinner. Ashton's favorite thing to eat out is a cheeseburger, so the kids got to eat at McDonald's and the rest of us had dinner from Bajio. Ashton was dying for Mike to get home, because I told him he couldn't open the presents from us, or my parents until Mike got home.
He loved what he got. My mom got him a new backpack (she let him open it on Tuesday night - it is Star Wars the Clone Wars).
He also got Lego Batman. Do you think he was excited?
That night Ashton told me it was the best day ever. I was so glad, it was hard to have seven 7 year-olds in the house for 1 1/2 hours. But it was worth it. He thought it was great.
Happy Birthday Buddy, we love you!!!

Thanks for having Ty over. He's already planning his to be just like Ashton's party! And Ashton was top on the guest list!
Good job, Mommy! It looks like a wonderful and successful party!
I didn't know we had boys who were the same age. Aren't Lego games the best? Aren't Mom's the best?
